Mako satin was originally the name given to a satin woven from mako cotton – an Egyptian cotton regarded as the epitome of finest long fibre quality.

Nowadays mako satin is the term applied to all lustrous cotton based satin fabrics. The yarn used are similar in quality to those of mako cotton.
